Sand harvesting and transportation is only allowed between 6 AM to 6PM.
Sand found in a river/stream within my farm belongs to me?
Sand like any other natural resource is for equitable benefit to all people and is under government control, thus ALL sand in the county is managed by the Sand Authority and doesn’t belong to individuals or groups.
Can scooping of sand be done at any depth in the designated sites?
Sand harvesting should not exceed six feet depth at designated harvesting sites.
Can sand be harvested anywhere once one has paid for license and cess?
Sand should only be harvested in designated sites.
Can sand harvested be sold outside Makueni County?
The Executive ban on sand harvesting for use outside the county is still in force except on special occasions; sand from sites such as earth dams is opened for use within and outside the county.
