The sand dam is located in Itumbule village, Ngaamba location in Kiima Kiu/Kalanzoni ward, Kilome sub county. It was funded by Sand Authority in the financial 2016/2017, constructed across Ikolya river which joins Muooni river at the lower point and has a sand storage capacity of approximately 24,960m³.
